Frequently Asked Questions
We know that navigating hair loss or changes in your hair can feel overwhelming. At Nedia, our goal is to create a supportive, private and informed experience for every guest. This FAQ page is here to answer your questions and help you feel more at ease as you explore your options.
Yes, we offer wigs- however, we are not a traditional wig shop.
At Nedia, everything begins with a private consultation. Your hair loss consultant will take the time to understand your concerns, lifestyle, and goals before guiding you through thoughtfully selected options. You’ll have the opportunity to see, touch, and try on pieces in a comfortable, supportive setting.
Rather than carrying a large, overwhelming inventory, our focus is on providing customized solutions tailored to each individual—so you leave with something that truly feels like you.
Our consultations are complimentary
If you book online you will be charged a $25 fee to hold your appointment. But this is refunded, or applied to any purchase you make at your appointment.
At your complimentary consultation your hair loss consultant (occasionally accompanied by a hair loss assistant) will take the time to truly listen to your concerns. We want to understand your story, your experiences, and what you’ve been through.
Based on your needs, recommendations may include products, services, toppers, or wigs. Your consultant will guide you toward options that align with your hair loss, your lifestyle, and your personal preferences. You’ll also have the opportunity to see, touch, and try on suggested pieces so you can feel confident and comfortable in your choice.
We are proud to carry Follea by Daniel Alain, a luxury hair brand renowned for its ultra high-end, 100% European human hair wigs and toppers. These pieces are widely considered the “gold standard” in the industry due to their meticulous hand-tied construction, natural movement, and undetectable lace fronts.
In addition to Follea we carry a curated collection from Nedia suppliers. This includes both synthetic and human hair, available in a wide range of colors and densities. Many are able to be customized.
Synthetic Wigs starting at $900
Human Hair Toppers starting at $1600
Human Hair Wigs starting at $3000
When you purchase a wig or topper at Nedia it includes a cut in customization service (a $250 value), as well as a styrofoam head, a small travel brush, and wash instructions.
We are not in-network for any insurance. We recommend talking to your insurance company about what they will cover before purchase. If you purchase a wig or topper, we will provide an insurance receipt with the purchase amount, diagnosis codes, as well as Nedia’s NPI and Federal ID number, so that you can submit the purchase to your insurance company yourself.
For Minnesotans, the Minnesota legislature passed a statute that insurance companies must offer a benefit for Alopecia Areata effective in 2015. The diagnosis code for Alopecia Areata is L63.9. This is your LCD-10-CM code.
Your insurance will also require the correct HCPCS code (pronounced hickpicks code). This will be the code they use for claims and billing/reimbursement purposes. Using the wrong code here can be a reason they could deny your claim. You may have to do some research because different insurance companies may have different benefits for these “prescriptions”.
Additionally, your doctor could write the prescription for a wig, and you may receive a dollar amount benefit. If your doctor writes your prescription for a scalp prosthetic, you may receive a different benefit.
The billing HCPCS codes for Cranial Hair Prosthesis are S8095 and A9282.
Any coverage will be a reimbursement that you submit directly to your insurer. Please be sure to verify all information provided here as this is the best information we have at the time but is subject to change.

The CareCredit health and wellness credit card is a flexible way to pay for expenses not covered by insurance. A financing option for those looking to purchase wigs or toppers at Nedia, that defers interest 6-12 months, or offers reduced APRs for longer term financing.
Due to strict Minnesota health regulations, wigs and hairpieces that have been altered in anyway are not returnable. Unaltered wigs and hairpieces are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Nedia offers 30 days to make adjustments with each wig and hairpiece purchased at Nedia. Offer is null and void if any cutting, chemical process (i.e. coloring, perming or relaxing) is done by any one other than our Nedia hair loss team.
You can always donate your wig to Nedia to be used for training.
